Livonia Civic Chorus Awards Scholarships

Madonna University Scholarships

For a number of years, the Livonia Civic Chorus has provided a $500 scholarship to a vocal music student at Madonna University. The student is selected by a committee of Madonna's Music Department based on talent and financial need. The scholarship is used to defray some of the winner's tuition costs.

The Livonia Civic Chorus also awards choir camp scholarships for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp located on a 1,300 acre campus in Michigan's Manistee National Forest. Middle and high school students entering grades 7-12 in the Fall enrolled in these Livonia schools are eligible: Churchill High School, Franklin High School, Stevenson High School, Clarenceville High School, Ladywood High School, Clarenceville Middle School, Emerson Middle School, Frost Middle School, Holmes Middle School, St. Edith's School, St. Genevieve's School, St. Michael's School, St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School, Peace Evangelical Lutheran School, and N.W. December 2015 — We awarded the Livonia Civic Chorus and Dominic Lucca Scholarship to a Madonna University student

We were saddened this Fall to learn of the passing of 20-year Chorus Member Dominic Lucca. Dom was always involved in a variety of Chorus performances and activities. He was a charming gentleman who contributed in any way he could for the success of the Chorus. His love for singing and loyalty to the Livonia Civic Chorus were unsurpassed. In tribute to Dom, the "Neighbors of Sussex" made a generous donation to the Chorus and asked that it be used in our scholarship program. Therefore, the Chorus Board and Scholarship Committee have added his name to this scholarship for 2015. The recipient of this year's scholarship from Madonna University is Alisa Pullum, a junior soprano studying vocal performance.
